Metal Gear Solid rumors speeding up.

Posted 5 Days ago by Lord Denida

They have been going like crazy for the last few months along with the Silent Hill rumors. Not it seems to hint for MGS3: Snake Eater with more hints.

What does everyone think? Could it be possible.

If it is, in fact, MGS3, it is likely to be another soulless cash-grab by Konami and is likely to not be worth the inevitable arbitrarily-high price tag that they will put on it.

Note that I am not permitted by GT policy to encourage piracy.

You may be right, the one I wish was it, would be MGS4 since that is only possible with PSNOW, ps3, or those illicit ways you mention...

Hopefully it's faithful to the original.

Five years ago, it was mere rumor that there would be a Metal Gear movie, but that appears to be well underway.

Perhaps a renaissance of Metal Gear content will come about. Not that Phantom Pain wasn't popular, but still.

My fear, of course, is that these things may lend themselves more to mechanical reproduction and less to the proper representation of the themes and other abstract weirdness that Kojima is known for. But, then again, I appear to be one of the few people that Death Stranding entirely resonated with, so who knows what is really best?

It's also mildly weird that the film is apparently zeroing in on Metal Gear Solid 1 for adaptation. Picking up a story halfway through seems odd, especially in the context of adapting a 12-plus hour stealth video game with some of the most idiosyncratic infodumps into a two hour action movie for general audiences. MGS3 is better, and is the actual beginning of the timeline, so why not start there?

That's a good point, but it MAY be just because movie execs that greenlight it wouldn't know the games, in my view...
